Complex Hip Replacement
I am fellowship trained in complex hip surgery. I use my knowledge and experience to assess your needs. I do everything possible to maintain your hip centre of rotation (putting the new ball and socket where it should be), whilst maintaining leg length and hip stability (lowering your risk of hip dislocation). If necessary I can use hip replacements that are designed to augment your bone (have extra components to fill gaps in bone) where bone loss is a problem from previous trauma or severe disease.
I will use the implants necessary to give the best movement and stability and believe in using the most conservative options possible (this preserves the most of your own bone and allows the hip replacement to move more like your original joint). I will discuss all options with you in clinic.
